The National Institute of Education (NIE) invites a suitable candidate to join the Division of Academic Computing & Information Services (ACIS) as an Analyst Programmer/Systems Analyst.

The candidate should be a dynamic IT professional who is a good team player and a strong software designer.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

Engage users in requirements gathering, propose recommendations and deliver solutions.

Provide ongoing support and maintenance to existing NIE in-house applications and constantly streamline and enhance the functionalities to meet users’ changing business needs.

Involvement in every aspect of application analysis, design, implementation and deployment.

Collaborate with IT teams and external vendors on software/server upgrade and migration activities.

Knowledge of application and infrastructure security compliances and general information security policies.

Evaluate, procure, and deploy IT solutions.

Focus on good code quality and high-test coverage and participate in code reviews.

Integrate software components and third-party programs to meet specifications.

 

 

Requirements

 

A University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience as a software developer, software engineer, or similar role.

Entry-level candidates with strong skillsets or good potential are welcome to apply.

Hands-on programming skillsets in Java, .NET, scripting language and experience in Oracle database will be preferred.

Excellent analytical, system thinking and problem-solving skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in the IT project management life cycle is an advantage, preferably with exposure to vendor management.

Quick learner who is passionate and willing to learn new languages and technologies.

Good self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and flexibility in adapting to changes.

Ability to work in an Agile working environment.

 

 

Applicants who possess the following skillsets are at an added advantage in succeeding in the role:

 

– Knowledge of Low Code Platform (e.g. Outsystems)
– Knowledge of Data Analytics (e.g. Tableau, MS Power BI), API
development/integration
– Knowledge of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools
(e.g. UiPath, Power Automate)
