Role Purpose

Applies advanced knowledge of business requirements and software development lifecycles to design, produce and guide the development of complex software solutions and coordinates team activities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develops software solutions by following the software development lifecycle. This includes: studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow and data usage, and investigating problem areas
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Provides information by collecting, analysing, and summarising development and service issues
  • Supports and develops team members by providing advice, coaching and development opportunities
  • Coordinates the team of Developers, Senior Developers and Lead Developers
  • Maintains accountability for the work product.

Minimum Requirements

  • This is a People Manager role
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. C++, Java)
  • Significant experience in an software development role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
