As part of the POLS Australia Research and Insights team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering a range of market research and data analysis projects as guided by POLS Australia’s strategic imperatives. In particular, the role will provide modelling and insights about student preferences, behaviours, and choice drivers for higher education programs.

The position is also responsible for conducting statistical analysis and modelling to predict market demand and dynamics for various higher education products.

Finally, the role will be responsible for reporting and insights on Student Experience and business performance to help drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, implement and report on market research and analytics projects

  • Apply mathematics, statistics, predictive modelling and other techniques (factor analysis, cluster analysis, multiple regression, choice modelling) to discover meaningful patterns and knowledge in recorded data
  • Support the Research & Insights team in developing data-based business cases for new higher education programs by analysing multiple datasets to uncover strategic insights
  • Work collaboratively with areas across the business to design, develop, deliver and maintain research which contribute to the understanding, measurement and optimisation of our operations
  • Lead the preparation of concise, insightful and specialised reports, for partnership stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Conceptualise, recommend and implement new approaches to resolve business questions relating to the student experience, engagement, success and outcomes

Selection Criteria

  • Essential: Postgraduate qualification or progress towards a post graduate degree in statistics, market research, marketing, business or similar with relevant experience in an analytical, market research, or institutional research role

  • Essential: Proven ability to synthesise large sets of data from multiple drivers and unrelated sources and experience in the development and application of analytical business tools
  • Essential: Experience in contributing to the formulation and leading the execution of primary market research
  • Desirable: Proven ability to engage stakeholders in the utilisation of the resulting insights
  • Desirable: Experience in executing Conjoint Value Analysis Models and experience would be highly preferable
