About the opportunity:

As a Dev Ops Engineer – AWS, you will work with developers and the IT staff to oversee the code releases, combining an understanding of both engineering and coding. From creating and implementing systems software to analyzing data to improve existing ones, you will be key in increasing productivity in the workplace.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Building and setting up new development environments and infrastructure
  • Deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet our customers’ needs
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Ensure all Development Assets and Development Environments comply with Global Security Policies and Standards
  • Ensuring that systems developed are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
  • Provide Level 2 technical support
  • Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Design procedures for system maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Who are you?

We are looking for a talented team player who has a strong background working for a technology-driven business, and who displays the following skills, knowledge, and attributes:

Background and Experience:

  • Bachelors level qualifications in Computer Systems Engineering, Information Security, Information Technology or any Professional Certification in related disciplines
  • 2-4 years of Industry experience in Systems Engineering or DevOps role
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft and AWS
  • Very strong Docker/Vagrant (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes or Mesos)
  • Strong Linux/Unix, Windows Server administration skills
  • Cloud server management with AWS and Azure
  • Experience using Continuous Integration with software such as Jenkins
  • Automation (Puppet, Chef or Salt), Scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby)
  • Automated backups and Disaster recovery
  • Database Management (MySQL/Postgres)
  • Experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting Apache/Tomcat/NGINX
  • Very good Networking Knowledge (HTTP/TCP/UDP)
  • Comfortable building dashboards based on Grafana and Kibana and gathering actionable insights
  • Server monitoring (New Relic and Nagios)
  • Working knowledge of, Elasticsearch, Redis and RabbitMQ, Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Understanding and experience in Build tools such as Jenkins, CI/CD practices & version control technologies such as GITHUB
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and possess a clear understanding of various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/ CD pipelines)
