Background & Purpose of the Job

The primary purpose of the Digital Hub Lead, Foods & Refreshments (F&R) is to 1) Drive the execution of our full-funnel, digital communication plan (from awareness to performance marketing) that powers immediate delivery of our ice cream and food brands and 2) drive Unilever’s digital transformation through the adoption of data-driven marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape the thinking around how to up Unilever’s game in digital marketing, while serving as a vital connector and influence for the organization to deliver truly holistic plans
  • Drive digital thought leadership through engagement with key media platform partners, evangelism in the marketing community and collaboration with marketing technology to deliver elevated experiences in digital
  • Lead team of subject matter experts, providing direct leadership to brand and category leaders so that they can reach consumers in compelling, creative ways, while also maximizing the return
  • Create clear digital marketing strategy for Food & Refreshment brands to accomplish both growth and brand building goals
  • Create workplan of priority tactics to support the execution of the strategy
  • Partner with Digital Hub Operations Manager and Scrum Master to support brands in their execution of these strategies in an agile way of working
  • Partner with cross functional marketing leads to enhance our marketing capabilities within key tactics such as media, email, website, content, measurement, and reporting
  • Maintain and evaluate brands against digital maturity evaluation criteria; adjust as needed in the ever evolving digital landscape

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience across marketing with specialized experience in digital; 3+ years in team leadership capacity
  • Understanding of evolving channel landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage marketing expertise including digital/eCommerce, cross-functional knowledge and data and insights to drive business growth
  • Demonstrated ability to develop marketing plans with the objective of growing a business. This executive should have proven experience thinking “out of the box” to develop target markets and segments using multiple channels
  • Knowledge of how dotcom platforms work
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation plans across many areas. Proven track record of successfully working in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated business judgment; ability to identify, prioritize and drive for the highest impact initiatives
  • Ability to impact and influence different areas of the organization, including VPs, Directors, and high-level customer contacts, with deep experience setting and rallying different stakeholders behind the established vision, and liaising with cross-functional teams at all levels
  • Create a clear view of the future state, helping others understand and feel how things will be different when this is achieved. Have a practical know-how, demonstrating results orientation while empowering and holding the team accountable for results
  • Manage through persuasion and influence rather than power. Inspire credibility. Serve as a visible mentor and coach
