JOB RESPONSIBILITY

You are responsible to overlook the accounting function of MC CMB where you will be required to have a holistic understanding of MC CMB’s operations while ensuring all deliverables on accounting matters are met. You need to work directly with the General Manager of MC CMB and communicate with different Departments based in MC Tokyo.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensuring conformity with all corporate policies and procedures of the branch office as directed by the GM and/or Head Office.
• Assisting the GM in maintaining necessary controls and providing advice on control issues while sharing recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure the timely conduct of the company’s Internal Audit and Quality Assurance Review.
• Effective and efficient implementation of recommendations made by the Risk Audit Department of MC.
• Assist with the development of systems and processes for administrative requirements.
• Ensure full awareness of changes and developments in corporate policy with regard to legal, accounting and administration matters – take necessary measures in implementing such changes.
• Overlook the preparation of annual financial statements of the branch office in accordance with the guidelines of MC Head Office and in line with Sri Lanka Accounting Standards.
• Work closely with external auditors on the audit and finalization of annual consolidated financial statements.
• Ensure all taxation matters are managed in a reliable and responsible manner, while all regulatory tax filings are completed as per set timelines.
• Advice the business department on tax implications with regard to trading activities, projects and investments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Banks, CPAs, Advisory firms and other professional organizations.
• Take the lead in preparing business expenditure reports and analyze budget variances.
• Ensuring completion of all operational payments in a timely manner.
• Support the GM and Corporate Department on Annual Budget preparation.
• Prepare ad-hoc analysis on expenses as and when requested by the GM.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Should be over 35 years of age with at least 12 years of experience in a similar capacity including 5 years of managerial exposure.
• Should possess a charter certified accounting qualification such as CA, CIMA, ACCA.
• A Master’s degree from a reputed University will be an added advantage.
• Should Possess advanced knowledge in Excel with good working knowledge of other Microsoft office applications.
• Should demonstrate good leadership qualities.
• Should be able to work under pressure and have an attitude of striving for results in line with the targets set by the company.
• Having strong interpersonal skills will be highly essential.
• Should have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and present complex issues clearly and concisely.
• Should be able to demonstrate excellent professional judgment along with good analytical, problem solving and evaluation skills.
