Key purpose of the Job
The General Manager – Engineering, leads the Engineering team for the SBU and is responsible for managing the implementation of all Engineering pillars across the plants in the SBU, and guides the SBU Engineering team for achievement of functional objectives. This includes preparation of engineering forecasts for the SBU, overseeing implementation of maintenance activities, monitoring of spares inventory / maintenance cost, achievement of efficiency objectives (for example, SMV reduction, machine utilization) and implementation of facility & plant expansion projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for planning and deployment of SBU Engineering requirements, including functional budgets, CAPEX requirements, objectives, projects, etc.
2. Oversee achievement of all engineering pillar machine maintenance objectives for the SBU, (for example, machine utilization, machine availability, SMV reduction).
3. Oversee effective implementation of facility engineering initiatives and projects across the SBU, meeting the compliance, EHS, efficiency, cost and lead time objectives.
4. Manage relationships with key internal and external stake holders for achievement of SBU functional objectives, including implementation of group level initiatives / projects.
