Responsible for management reporting function of Dialog Axiata Group

  • Oversee the process of preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements and provide the financial insights for the review of senior management.
  • Supervise and coordinate Inter-company adjustments and reconciliation which is required as input for Group consolidation.
  • Responsible for review of group segmental accounts and share the segmental reports with senior management.
  • Maintain an effective financial reporting system and provide timely suggestions to improve the processes and achieve efficiencies.
  • Provide information required by group senior management and other related divisions based on management accounts to enable decision making

Responsible for Axiata Group reporting function

  • Guide staff in preparing Axiata monthly reporting Pack and review reporting pack and supportive notes thereto and share the same with Axiata finance team within the stipulated timelines.
  • Liaise with Axiata reporting team for any clarifications and further information required.
  • Responsible for statutory reporting function
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders on providing guidance on preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements of Dialog Axiata PLC and subsidiaries and liaise with the auditors with regard to annual audits and quarterly audits.
  • Supervise and Coordinate finalization of annual report of Dialog Axiata PLC and performance review included in annual report. Support the senior management team for finance related work required for Dialog AGM.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of annual Licenced Financial Statements and liaise with the auditors to perform annual audits leading to signing of the Audited Financial Statements.
  • Responsible for liaison with External Auditors on the observations made in the management letter and compiling responses, while assisting elimination of issues raised by auditors.
  • Table board paper for adoption of quarterly financial statements for the Group and any other Board papers related to Financial Accounting including changes to accounting policies and estimates, as and when required.
  • Supervise and Coordinate the process of providing of the information and explanation required by related statutory bodies on periodic basis (quarterly, BI annually and annually) and responsible for liaison with all statutory bodies (TRCSL, CBSL, BOI, Census & Statistics Dept. etc) on reporting as and when required.

Responsible for governance over Related Party Transactions

  • Ensure governance framework is maintained across the Group for transactions between related parties in compliance with the Listing rules, accounting standards and transfer pricing requirements
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders entering into related party transactions
  • Liaise with Group Tax, Legal and CoSec on related party transactions
  • Table quarterly paper for related party transactions review committee.

Responsible for Group revenue recording and reporting function

  • Lead the month-end revenue recording by validating accruals, reviewing account reconciliations, journal entries, and conducting fluctuation analyses.
  • Review & ensure revenue operations as per the Company’s policies and ensure that accounting treatment is in line with SLASs/SLFRSs.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to automate revenue accounting processes including reconciliation of data, reporting, and analysis.
  • Provide highlights to senior management on revenue on monthly basis to understand key drivers of company/group.
  • Liaison with external audit team to support the external audit, by providing supporting audit schedules, evidence, and process overview.
  • Help design system enhancements, process changes, and other improvements to achieve scalability and support new business initiatives.
  • Design, implement and maintain controls as appropriate; conduct accounting and systems process reviews with external auditors.
  • Provide the required information for Quarterly Board Paper to Board Audit Committee (BAC).

Responsible for technical advisory function of the Group

  • Update senior management of the Company of the implications of the changes in regulations/standards and requirements announced by International and Local Financial Statutory Institutes and government authorities to ensure effective and timely application.
  • Manage and undertake compliance monitoring reviews, the provision of regular reports to the senior management and the stakeholders; and ensuring that findings identified are tracked and addressed by the relevant business area.
  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders (CA Sri Lanka, Inland Revenue, External Auditors, etc) including managing all financial regulatory submissions.
  • Be aware of changing regulatory requirements around the business to maintain and improve business performance.
  • Represent the Company and its views at external meetings with key stakeholders on upcoming changes.
  • Provide an objective and professional evaluation of internal control systems in order to develop strong internal control systems to ensure that risks are mitigated.

The Person

  • Possesses a degree in Accountancy/Finance and professional qualification in a related field (ACCA, CA, CIMA).
  • Possesses an MBA in disciplines of General Management, Accounting/ Finance will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience and minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proven experience of preparing and presenting financial and management accounts, reports and data.
  • Experience of liaising with auditors, business advisers and board members.
  • Experience in SAP & IT.
