Manager, Front End Software Development – Core Learning Technology

The Core Learning Technology Development Team is in search of a Software Development Manager.
The team is focused on building out reusable components/libraries used by the entire company to deliver learning experiences tailored to its diverse set of learners. The position requires a proven track record specifically in front end engineering. The candidate will directly manage development teams located remotely in India.
What You Will Do
Manage four remote, front-end development teams responsible for the learning experience on all three major platforms: Web, Android, and iOS
- Develop features used directly by learners around the world through the latest technologies
- Daily scrum with the dev teams to keep in sync with current development activities and issues
- Mentor and enable developers through code reviews and architectural sessions
Work with management team located onshore, to flesh out requirements, determine release cycles, estimate dev effort, solutioning, and triage.
Skills & Experience
Advance JavaScript knowledge with hands on development experience building components from scratch (3+ years) OR ReactJS dev experience (1+ year)
- Expertise in HTML 5, CSS 3, Web Services, UI development from scratch, proofs of concepts, and architectural design
- Comfortable with presenting, communicating, and advocating ideas to wider team
Physically located must be in EST Region
Additional Information
The dev teams focus on front end development (not full stack)
- Native mobile development experience (in Android or iOS) is desirable but not required
- Remote dev teams are located in India
As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $83,300.00 – $171,500.00 and information on benefits offered is here.
