degree of commitment to the acquisition of third-party funds are expected.

The professional focus may be on one or more of the following research topics:

 Digital circuits and design of integrated systems, e.g. of AI accelerators
 Architectures, design methodologies, and coprocessors/accelerators for application specific processors
 Hardware security
 Functional safety and reliability of circuits and systems
 Reconfigurable hardware architectures

with application links in particular to medical technology, information technology, automotive, IT security or
automation technology.

The professorship will be part of the Institute of Applied Microelectronics and Computer Engineering (IMD), which addresses a wide range of research topics in the area of embedded and cyber-physical systems. At the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (IEF), the IMD represents a broad spectrum of topics in technical computer science in research and education. The versatile interdisciplinary application possibilities of integrated systems lead to the expectation of an intensive cooperation with colleagues of the IEF and in the profile lines of the Interdisciplinary Faculty of the University of Rostock. An active cooperation with the CRC 1270 ELAINE (ELectrically Active ImplaNtatE) is desired. In teaching, the future professor is expected to participate appropriately in the English-language master’s program in Electrical Engineering, in addition to offering basic and advanced courses on digital and integrated systems.
