Job Overview

QA Engineer

Your Position – At Adventus, quality assurance is a continuous part of the development life cycle which will see you working closely with the whole team from inception to production. Most of your time will be spent with your delivery team, but you will play a key role in our quality guild and work closely alongside our small team of talented QA engineers.

• Help plan, create and manage the overall Quality Planning strategy
• Alongside your delivery team, refine and estimate user stories / bugs and write acceptance criteria
• Spot requirement gaps or flawed business logic in user stories
• Develop, share and execute test plans
• Perform test execution, test analysis and all phases of testing, including functional, regression, performance, usability, integration, acceptance, etc.
• Identify, report and troubleshoot defects
• Collaborate with the development team on bug fix verification and validation (regression testing)
• Document results; offer observations or improvements after analysis of test results and overall product quality
• Proactively participate in maintaining and improving team standards and best practices
• Participate in deployments to production as needed
• Identify quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Your Backstory

• Proven experience as a QA Engineer in an Agile TDD/BDD environment with the ability to manage time constraints and prioritise your workload
• Proven experience using a variety of different testing techniques including UI Testing, Automated Testing (not essential, but highly regarded) and Test Driven Development strategies
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
• The ability to think big picture, but you’re also a doer who thrives on setting and achieving goals
• A belief in simple solutions, not easy solutions
• You can accept consensus even when you may not agree
• The ability to apply risk management skills effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills, you communicate technical details articulately – simplifying complexity and can get others on board with changes and new processes
