The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 16-month contract at the Centre for Research in Child Development.

Project Title: Quality of teaching and learning in preschools in Singapore [NTUC-MFS 8/21 NK]

Project Introduction: The purpose of this project is to determine the quality of teaching and learning in selected preschools in Singapore.

Requirements

•   at least a Bachelors degree

•   qualifications or work experience in early childhood education would be preferred

•   research skills (such interviewing, video-recording, audio-recording, transcribing, etc.) would be preferred

Responsibilities

•   To assist and work closely with the NIE Research Team in the research project and Project Manager from the start till the end (including the departments in NIE, funding body, preschools, etc.)

•   To assist in the distribution and collection of consent forms from the preschools

•   To arrange with the preschools appointments for data collection

•   To undertake data collection, organization of data, data entry, data analysis, etc.

•   Any other duties assigned by the NIE Research Team
