Research Fellow (Black Soldier Flies Life Cycle Assessment)
The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow for two years who will work with Asst. Prof. Janice Lee’s research group. The Research Fellow (RF) will join an interdisciplinary research team that investigates the environmental footprint of using black soldier flies (BSF) as agricultural input and feed for livestock, and aquaculture in Singapore.
Job Responsibilities
Use life cycle assessments (LCA) to compare this BSF footprint with the environmental footprints of conventional agricultural inputs and feed
Work closely across a multidisciplinary team to collect data and develop a LCA model for BSF
Assist in data analysis, writing and developing research outputs for the project
Assist in project management and administration for the grant
Mentor students, as needed
Job Requirements
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
PhD degree in industrial ecology, environmental engineering, environmental studies
Experience in LCA and working with Ecoinvent or similar LCA software preferred
Experience using R for data analysis and visualization preferred
Prior experience in written research outputs

Logical thinking and creative problem solving is essential
Ability to work independently to develop research outputs
Self-driven, highly motivated, collaborative, with an interest in working with other researchers and scientists (team player) to produce high-quality and impactful research.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
