Research Fellow (Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering)

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) is looking for highly motivated Research Fellow with strong research interest on applying RIS technology to wireless signal enhancement which may benefit the management of transportation traffic. We have deeply investigated existing RIS assisted communication systems from research theory to engineering development, and have experience with the algorithm design, system implementation and proof-of-concept evaluation with regard to several types of platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proposing and verifying novel research ideas in the area of RIS based signal enhancement.
• Implementing the hardware-software system and experimenting proof-of-concept prototype.
• Collaborating with Ph.D students and research assistants in the same research group for system design/implementation/evaluation.
• Formatting the research design and system development to academic research papers.
• Guide undergraduate students on the conduction of their course project.

Job Requirements:

• A Ph.D degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with strong interest in the related field
• Familiar with the basic and advanced theory of RIS assisted signal coding/modulation/enhancement techniques
• Familiar with the state-of-the-art of RIS related system design and prototype implementation.
• Familiar with RIS related communication theory and control theory, e.g., multipath effect, beamforming theory, digital/analog control, etc.
• Familiar with the basic theory of antenna design, e.g., frequency selection, bandwidth control, impedance control, etc.
• Familiar with RIS system design and implementation.
• Familiar with academic paper writing
• Experience with software signal processing, software simulation and hardware implementation.
• Strong interest in research and strive to publish in top venues on mobility, systems, and networking.
