Research Fellow [LKCMedicine]

The Research Fellow will drive multimodal neuroimaging research in a multi-institutional dementia program at the new Dementia Research Centre in the LKC School of Medicine at the Nanyang Technological University. They will be part of the dynamic neuroscience research environment of Singapore.

Job Responsibilities:

• Organize and execute processing of multimodal functional and structural human brain scans using specific image processing algorithms

• Perform study-related basic and advanced statistical analyses for disease prediction

• Conduct literature reviews, formulate key aims and hypotheses, prepare analysis plans, manuscripts and grants

• Establish cross-faculty, industry and international collaborations

• Mentor graduate students and interns

• Publish data, and hold presentations at team, institutional, local and international meetings/conferences.

• Determine the brain imaging changes underlying cognitive and biomarker changes associated with pre-clinical dementia as well as early-onset and late-onset dementia

Skills & qualifications:

• PhD in Neuroscience, Neuroimaging in dementia, Bioengineering or related fields

• Experience in the following techniques: brain image processing and analyses techniques including organization and pre-processing of structural (T1, FLAIR, DTI) and functional (fMRI, ASL) brain images using imaging algorithms and software including but not limited to Freesurfer, SPM and FSL

• Minimum 2 years work experience in a clinical setting with clinical dementia data

• Experience in data analyses and implementing statistical analysis using statistical software such as SPSS,  R or Python is required and experience with MATLAB and Bash scripting is advantageous

• Proven track record in research with evidence of impactful publications or other research outputs

• Keen interest in clinical research and hypothesis testing

• Self-motivated, independent and driven

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Prioritization and time management skills
