The Position

We’re up to big things at Intrepid and now more than ever we need change-makers, those who think differently – someone who zigs when others zag and lives outside the box.
If that hits home, then Intrepid may be the place for you. As a front-end developer, you will operate within a cross-functional global team of talented and dedicated professionals who support our websites and enterprise systems.

You will be working in a development environment that takes Agile seriously and produces amazing technology solutions for the wider business. As a key member of our team, you will work very closely with product owners, UX, senior technical staff and end-users to deliver the best possible solutions with the latest techniques and tools.

No two days are the same but some of the tasks you’ll support on are:

Work independently within a cross-functional agile team to deliver solutions while successfully engaging with the wider business to achieve great solutions

Developing front-end systems with an understanding of scaling, reliability, and maintenance trade-offs as they occur in practice

Provide thoughtful and detailed code reviews for teammates and help document idioms and best practices

Offer demos, talks, and recommendations to help your own team and others be more productive and ship better product

Make significant efforts to understand customer needs and motivations and understand how engineering projects contribute to business goals

This is a full-time position based in Colombo; We believe vaccines play a critical role in the safe return of travel. To ensure our workplaces are safe, we require proof of Covid-19 vaccination when you work from an Intrepid office, attend company events or travel on trips.

To set you up for the best possible success, some of the essential skills you’ll possess are:

Building web-based interfaces to meet visual designs and functional specifications

Experience using a JavaScript based framework (e.g. Vue, React, Angular)

An in-depth understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript (ES6)

Experience building and interacting with APIs

A good understanding of development tools and best practices, including CI/CD and source control

Experience developing in a php framework such as Symfony or Laravel is a bonus
