Punt Club is a fast growing Adelaide-based business in the sports betting space about to embark on a new funding round and looking to expand our operation to the US and Europe. We are looking for one or two web/software application developer to help conceive, plan and deliver on Punt Club’s development roadmap. Some clever bastard said if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life – and what’s not to love about sport, beer, betting & banter?

You’ll be working on a live legacy Symfony 3.4 project with over 60k users. Knowledge of MVC frameworks, Twig, Doctrine, MySQL and complex queries is essential. You’ll have excellent communication skills and be able to make opinionated decisions about design and implementation.

The position is full time permanent with an opportunity to work remotely for the right candidate.

Must have demonstrable experience with the following:

• The entire LAMP stack
• MVC frameworks (preferably Symfony 2+)
• Javascript, jQuery, and Webpack
• CSS and SASS
• Packages managers (composer, npm/yarn)
• Git commands and workflows (branching, merging, pull requests)
• Unit testing with PHP Unit
• Basic understanding of UX

Experience with the following will be looked upon favorably:

• Google Firebase
• API Development (Postman)
• AWS (SQS, EC2, RDS)
• Whitelabeling
• Message Queues

• Node.js
• React
• Docker or Kubernetes

Salary can be negotiated based on experience and while we ideally want you here in Adelaide as part of the team, we’re open to the right talent joining us remotely if you fit the bill. If onsite, you’ll be camped on Adelaide’s city fringe in Kent Town, in the same art gallery building as digital agency The Distillery, and local incubator The Moonshine Lab.

Full time is preferred but we would consider part-time for the right applicant or those entrepreneurial souls who are burning the midnight oil with their own project – you just might miss out on Friday beers. And the Thursday ones.
