Position Summary

The London Stock Exchange Group is seeking an experienced {Business Title} who can drive strategic changes to improve software security of LESG’s product portfolio. You will be encouraged to play a key role in evangelising the benefits of Application Security and contribute to the continuous improvement of the offerings and the team’s agenda towards ‘Shifting Left’.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of products and technologies within LSEG and how they relate to various parts of the business and appropriateness for application security.
  • Develops tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code, may also review others’ code when required and suggest improvements or resolutions where applicable.
  • Handles own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture and leads design work.
  • Establishes an understanding of strategy and culture, and how they impact own work.
  • Completes the delivery of given tasks with some guidance and oversight.
  • Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products, application security and related tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.
  • Communicates clearly and with precision in a concise format and timely manner.
  • Builds positive relationships with their team and colleagues and collaborates closely.
  • Collaborates closely with other similar interest groups within LSEG to improve application security posture.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering or similar technical field.
  • 5+ years of proven developer experience.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one programming language and the ecosystem of this.
  • Some knowledge of design patterns.
  • Moderate experience in a Software development and delivery role.
  • Passionate about technology and willingness to adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure and knowledge of supply chain security in the SDLC.
  • Exposure to applications security tooling: Static Analysis (SAST), Software Composition analysis (SCA)
  • Knowledge of common algorithms and data structures for dealing with large quantities of data (e.g., building data-intensive systems)
  • Exposure to a wide range of languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies
  • Exposure to modern development tooling: GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Professional qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in regulated environments.
  • Previous working experience in AWS or similar cloud platforms.
  • Previous consulting experience working closely with engineers.
  • Previous experience with cross-team collaboration.
