Job Description

Under the Global Technical Solution Services Practice, we enable our customers to reap the full benefit of our products by utilizing IFS technologies in an optimal way. We do that by offering a robust technical solution,  and by making sure the right technical activities are executed at the right time.                     

Technical Solution Manager (TSM) is responsible for managing the overall technical solution for a customer from the sales process through implementation, ensuring a successful go-live and handover to Support.  This involves defining the technical solution, driving advanced technology when necessary and tasking other teams at IFS to produce technical deliverables.

The TSM ensures that technical activities in the project are carried out efficiently and effectively.  The TSM works closely with the Project Manager and acts as the single point of contact for the customer and the project team for all technical matters.  The TSM handles typical IFS Applications/Field Service Management (FSM)/Planning and Scheduling Optimization (PSO) projects independently.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

  • Understands technical deliverables of the project per the solution proposed in the sales cycle and provides input to the Project Manager for incorporating them in the project plan.
  • Analyze the commercial impacts aligning with project plan and input to project stakeholders on potential risks and initiate/drive required risk mitigation plans proactively.
  • Forecasts resource demands aligning with Project Manager and initiate prioritizations to secure required resources.
  • Coordinates all technical activities in the implementation/upgrade project, from initial deployment of software to post go live support.
  • Acts as the point of contact for the customer and the project team and ensures good communications between the technical teams and project team members.
  • Plans/coordinates/tracks progress of Configuration, Reports, Integration and Modification (CRIM) development activities and technical training.
  • Resolves technical issues during the project and reports on the status at project team meetings.
  • Participates in technical design of CRIM items, makes sure appropriate designs are used in each CRIM item, and the combination of all CRIM constitute a robust solution.
  • Works with the Project Manager to make sure CRIM specifications are up to standards and are completed in a timely manner.
  • Initiates go live preparation activities and post go live support
  • Assists/guides the customer with security/profiles setup

Selected candidates will be focused to work in projects from DACH region and are expected work within EU hours while being located in Sri Lanka.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent job experience or other professional qualifications) 
  • Significant experience in Software Engineering or Systems Engineering 
  • Broad technical skill set, with familiarity of the various technologies and technical topics required to deploy, customize and support the IFS product suite 
  • Strong working knowledge of, and experience with, processes and protocols required for System Engineering and/or Software Engineering 
  • Experience with handling implementation or upgrade projects from kick off to go live
  • Experience with performing common system admin functions such as security and user profile setup and configuration management in the IFS product being implemented
  • Understands capabilities of all products in the IFS product suite in a high level
  • Ability to travel to customer sites where required 
  • Fluent in English.
