ABOUT THIS JOB

Nielsen is seeking an experienced mobile Android developer. This position requires at least 2-5 years of experience in the Android domain. This position will be responsible for designing, developing a mobile application. The successful candidate will be required to engage with all areas within Nielsen including Testing, backend processing systems, operations and partners around the world. This position is expected to bring industry best practices of source control, code review, automated unit test to the team.

- - You are interested in assessing existing systems and design a strategy to make them high performing and efficient
  - You have the intent, and ability to work independently and be a self-starter. Direction and support will be provided by the manager, but the candidate is expected to be a proactive member and put forth his/her own ideas
  - Excellent communication and documentation skills
  - Flexible to attempt alternate solutions to resolve issues and adjust to a dynamic, changing technical and business environment

QUALIFICATIONS

- - Proven record of mobile app development
  - Experience in Java, Kotlin
  - Experience in C/C++Experience in Android OS APIs
  - Experience in HTTP/S communication
  - Experience in XML/JSON formats and parsers
  - Experience in memory / battery management
  - Experience in Android ROM development a plus
  - Experience with Android Studio for development
  - Experience with using Instrumentation and Profiling tools provided by Android Studio
  - Experience with Test Driven Development and Test Automation
  - Experience with Jenkins and Gradle
  - Experience with developing apps using NDK
  - Good knowledge of network protocols such as HTTP/S, IP, TCP, UDP
  - Good working knowledge of encryption
