Application Support Engineer
About the job
Key Responsibilities:
Application Support Engineer will provide effective technical support for service requests from project teams and other departments. The role is mainly responsible for providing users with information, restoring, and providing specific services, R&D, and escalating tickets to specific vendors for support in a 24×7 rotational shift environment.
Ideal candidate should have:
- 02-03 years’ experience working in IT support desk environment
- BSc in IT or Computer Science
- Experience working with service desk ticketing system
- Good knowledge in Linux Server Management (RedHat or any Linux Administration certification will be an added advantage)
- Knowledge in ubuntu, Deb, Nginx, filesystem, LVM and Patch updates
- Knowledge in Apache Tomcat web servers and web hosting principles
- Knowledge in database preferably MySQL, PostgreSQL, and database backup/recovery
- Sound knowledge of administrative best practices for application servers, database servers and 3rd party appliances.
- Knowledge in Azure Cloud / AWS Cloud Services
- Good understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts
- Strengthen and maintain the monitoring and management of the build and deployment processes and infrastructure
- Ability to research alternative pathways until you resolve an issue
- Knowledge in shell-scripting and experience in DevOps automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Zabbix, Docker, Kubernetes) – Will be an added advantage
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and Documentation Skills.
- Proven customer service skills and language proficiency.
- Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodologies.
- Good communication skills (Verbal & Written) and ability to work within a 24×7 support environment
