The Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS) is a new, unique interdisciplinary Research Centre of Excellence (RCE), funded by National Research Foundation, Ministry of Education (Singapore), Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore. Hosted by NTU in partnership with NUS, IDMxS is world’s first organized effort focused on interfacing the biological and living world with the world of information technology and data science whilst providing fundamental scientific development, grounded in materials science, optics, and interfacial chemistry.

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Manager, Procurement in IDMxS.


  • Handle day to day operations for purchasing, new product sourcing and/ or supplier quality management
  • Support preparation of ITT/ITQs, invite quotations, verify and complete purchase requisitions for approval. This includes coordinating with PI’s to gather requirements for purchasing needs or for tender and quotation
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with all suppliers, domestic and foreign
  • Support the Institute’s management team and PIs in planning office and research orders and consumption
  • Maintain and review from time to time an efficient and effective supplier base that best supports the specific business and operational requirements
  • Ensure cost-effective products and services are provided to the business in a timely manner with consistent quality. This includes preparation and close follow-up on purchase orders and performing goods receipt and invoice coding for the Institute
  • Reconcile and analyse all orders and ensure optimal inventory and operational requirements
  • Analyse past and future inventory demand volumes, inventory trends and make forecast to minimize wastages or surplus
  • Review monthly orders and consumption and ensure discrepancies in purchases, purchase orders and invoices are reconciled within the month
  • Work closely with the University’s central Procurement function, on business requirements to optimise ITT/ITQs and to establish work requirements needed to be fulfilled by various suppliers (i.e., SLA review)


  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of the procurement laws of Singapore
  • Experienced in a dynamic environment
  • Able to lead, multi-task and team-play
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management skills
  • Proficient in Ariba and Microsoft Office applications
  • Comfortable to handle/review high volume of administrative transactions
  • Meticulous, resourceful and innovative with a positive attitude
