Mexxar is a leading technology company specializing in software industry. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Big Data Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and implementing scalable and efficient big data solutions.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Building and maintaining data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Performing data modeling, data integration, and data transformation tasks.
• Optimizing and troubleshooting data processing and storage systems.
• Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in big data and analytics.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Big Data Engineer or a similar role, with a strong understanding of big data concepts and technologies.
• Proven experience in RStudio
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with big data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark) and distributed computing.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL processes.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with related services (e.g., Amazon S3, Redshift, EMR).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
