Other PhD Opportunities

Alternatively, prospective students are encouraged to develop and submit a research proposal themselves for consideration. The best way to approach this is to contact member(s) of the academic faculty with similar research interests and explain that you are looking for PhD supervision in their area. From that informal conversation, a project could be discussed and outlined. The members of each of our research divisions and their research interests can be found here:

Organisms & Environment

Molecular Biosciences

Biomedicine

Neuroscience

Alternatively, prospective students may submit an academic CV and research proposal / description to the BIOSI Education Office (), which will be circulated to academic staff in the relevant faculty. Please note that if you are not applying for an advertised funded project, it is likely that you will need to source your own funding.
