Civil Engineering Intern- (United Nations Office for Project Services)

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners’ peacebuilding, humanitarian and development projects around the world.  Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors and United Nations organizations.The UNOPS Sri Lanka under the Bangladesh Multi Country Office (BDMCO) implements projects on behalf of UN agencies and bilateral donors and in close coordination with the Government and national authorities. With an established presence across the region, the office runs operations including procurement, project development and technical management, and provides financial, human resources and infrastructure-related services. The functional objective of UNOPS Sri Lanka is to deliver its projects in an efficient and effective manner and in line with the principles, rules and regulations of UNOPS, so as to achieve the outcomes sought by the clients.Within this context, UNOPS is looking for Intern with a primary reporting line to the Project Manager / Senior Associate Civil Engineer in Sri Lanka, except when assigned to a practice area in which case s/he will report to the relevant technical team lead.

The internship is a learning and working opportunity that targets fresh graduates. The intern will assist the Project Manager and Engineer in the Infrastructure team  to efficiently and effectively manage Infrastructure projects  and support to the Sri Lanka Country Office . The intern will be exposed to practical learning and working experiences that foster development of his /her path. The Intern will work full time and follow the same working hours as UNOPS employees under the direct supervision of the Senior Associate Civil Engineer.
