Deputy Director, Overseas Entrepreneurship Program
Reporting to the Program Director, the incumbent will head the global placement operations of the Overseas Entrepreneurship Programme (“OEP”) including oversight of overseas OEP representatives in 8 locations globally.
Responsibilities
Program Management
Drive the global placement operations of the Overseas Entrepreneurship Programme (“OEP”) including oversight of overseas OEP representatives in 8 locations globally
Supervise program for quality and provide an oversight processes and obligations in compliance to MOE Global Innovation Alliance (“GIA”) goals and objectives
Ensure integrity of OEP data for MOE Global Innovation Alliance grant reporting
Lead team of OEP placement managers in selection and placement of targeted number of students in OEP locations globally
Geographic expansion and internship placement
Ensure diversity in overseas start-ups qualified to offer internship places
Responsible for uncovering and developing relationship with new startup partners in ASEAN, USA and Israel to offer internship opportunities
Identify and develop new markets and locations for overseas internship placements
Ensure diversity in overseas start-ups qualified to offer internship places
Government Relations and liaison
Main liaison between OEP and key government agencies like Enterprise Singapore and EDB under GIA
Develop partnership with government agencies to engage startup ecosystems overseas
Assist the Program Director in reporting and communication with NTU senior management and government ministries and statutory boards in all GIA matters.
Marketing and OEP alumni engagement
Conceptualise, develop and lead the execution of marketing strategy to encourage participation in the program amongst the NTU undergraduate population
Lead in establishing linkages with past and present OEP participants to build a vibrant alumnus to promote entrepreneurship
Plan and coordinate outreach events, student workshops and OEP Alumni activities
Engage various colleges and schools in NTU to increase awareness of OEP and encourage student participation
Compliance
Oversee and manage program expenditure and ensure compliance to MOE Global Innovation Alliance grant guidelines.
Track and monitor student employment and venture building activities after graduation as a requirement of GIA grant reporting
Requirements:
At least a degree holder with at least 15 years of working experience
Resourceful, team player and a problem solver with attention to details
Working experience in startups, venture capitalists, incubators and accelerators would be a huge plus
Experience in tertiary education sector, overseas internship placement or business development in ASEAN, US and Europe would be an added advantage
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage undergraduates
Willingness to travel at short notice.
