Engineering Research Engineer (Meter Data Analytics & Field Test)

The Meter Data Analytics Data Engineer will design and develop data pipelines and big data storage for analytics, with specialty in AWS Big Data tools and services. Responsible for building big data solutions at scale on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Petabyte range and working as an AWS DevOps Engineer to build, maintain, and administer AWS infrastructure. 

Key Responsibilities: 
• Design Hadoop data warehouse solutions and publishing data sets using EMR, Apache Parquet, Hive 
• Design RDBMS data warehouse OLAP solutions and publishing data sets using Aurora and PosgreSQL RDS 
• Building batch and real-time data ingestion and processing pipelines with Apache Spark, Lambda, SQS, EMR, EKS 
• Ingestion/replication via DMS from traditional on-prem RDBMS (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, IBM DB2, MySQL, Postgres) 
• Administer and Support solutions to enable analytics via EMR, Spark, Presto, Python/PySpark Experience

Requirements 
• 5+ years of experience in SDLC with Java, Python 
• 3+ years of database development experience within Hadoop ecosystem, including Spark • 3+ years of OLAP database development experience with RDBMS 
• 2+ years of hands-on data engineering on AWS 
• Expert knowledge of Advanced SQL working with large data sets 
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques 
• Sound knowledge of distributed systems and data architecture (lambda)- design and implement batch and stream data processing pipelines, knows how to optimize the distribution and partitioning of high-level data structures 
• AWS Big Data Specialty and/or Solutions Architect Professional Certification is a plus • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Computer Science or equivalent experience
