Key purpose of the Job

The role holder will spearhead Category Management for the Fabric category in assigned SBUs by implementing its strategy and achieving the Fabric Category Management objectives/KPIs. This includes supplier consolidation, margin improvement, supplier relationship management, supplier performance management and risk management. The role holder will be a technical expert in the Fabric Category, delivering the assigned responsibility in collaboration with the SBU Supply Chain team.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Ensuring achievement of the strategic sourcing objectives for one or more assigned SBUs, including new supplier identification, supplier evaluation, margin improvement, supplier consolidation, capacity, quality, etc.
2.Implementation of supplier performance management and risk mitigation initiatives for the assigned SBUs
3.Liaising with the assigned SBUs, cross-functional teams and suppliers for achievement of the category objectives
4.Providing MIS, reporting and progress updates on KPIs, category savings, supplier performance dashboards, functional LRP projects, etc., as per guidelines
5.Leading and managing the team for achievement of the functional objectives

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in the stream of Textile and Clothing or National Diploma in Technology in the stream of Textile and Clothing or an equivalent qualification

Experience

1 – 2 years of relevant experience in the area of Textile Technology with strong technical knowledge of raw materials and RM sourcing practices
