Field Research Business Analyst

Summary

The Pearson Clinical Field Research team is responsible for collecting research data in support of product development for the Pearson Clinical business. Pearson Field Research contracts with Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and other such professionals to function as examiners who identify potential candidates, administer the assessments, and return the results back to Pearson.

The Business Analyst is a high visibility position with primary responsibilities to use knowledge of the business applications along with other tools and resources to support daily users as well as drive the successful execution of projects that provide IT support to the Field Research business processes. This position partners closely with employees from all levels of Field Research and related departments to analyze processes, generate requirements, and execute projects to meet those requirements.

Responsibilities

• Use knowledge and experience in reviewing, analyzing, and implementing improvements in company processes and procedures for better utilization of business applications

• Understand internal and external customer issues and requirements and provide suitable technical solutions after an end-to-end analysis of the current applications and support.
• Provide support for common business applications and related systems application questions
• Maintain departmental documentation related to projects and changes
• Provide education to all employees and customers
• Provide program problem resolutions with a clear understanding of file structures and programming techniques
• Assist with administrative operations and maintenance of business as it relates to data collection
• Gather and analyze data for potential business expansion
• Identify specific business opportunities
• Influence stakeholders to support business projects
• Assist with project management for selected projects
• Coordinate with different departmental teams to produce better business outcomes
• Test business processes and recommend improvements
• Convert roadmap features into smaller user stories
• Write clear and well-structured business requirements/documents
• Identify automation opportunities
• Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to understand business performance
• Analyze process issues and bottlenecks and to make improvements
• Communicate and validate requirements with relevant stakeholders
• Develop and maintain reporting tools
• Perform data discovery, analysis, and modeling
• Collaborate with product manager on roadmap planning and prioritization

• Managing iPad OS versions and inventory and tracking software

Skills & Requirements

• Associates Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

• Minimum 3 years IT experience and minimum 2 or more years of Business Analyst experience
• Excellent software development and object-oriented design fundamentals with a strong background in architecture in software applications
• Working knowledge of the software development cycle
• Knowledge of web applications and AWS platforms, knowledge of SAS (Statistical Analysis Software) a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Works well in both a team and individual environment
• Organized project management skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and active listening
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks
• Strong ability to pick up new systems quickly and effectively
• Willing to support other team members with work related to department needs
