Role Summary
• Preparation, completion, and analytical review of the financial (monthly) reporting for the entire SBU (Spain / US/ SLK / UK) in line with company policy, procedures, and timelines.
• To ensure that all tax and statutory reporting occurs in an ethical, accurate and timely manner
• Report to the CFO on the financial performance of the company.
• Financial insights into business performance to drive improved profitability
• Manage the month-end process in line with company policy, procedures, and timelines.
• Ad hoc financial support/ analysis to the GM / CFO as required.
• Team leadership and building/ Build and manage a team of accountants and perform people management activities.
• Work with the teams on process improvements and efficiencies.
Role Description
Finance Team Management: To take complete ownership of the Offshore finance function for the SBU, including:
· Manage the SL finance department (3-5 reports) & continue to develop the role of offshore finance
Accounting and Reporting
- Completion of SBU month end reporting requirements in accordance with group reporting deadlines
- Preparation and maintenance of monthly contract accounting
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly contract accounting meeting with contract/project managers
- Have a complete understanding of the SBU P&L, prepare/Review general ledger reconciliations and journals, review Intercompany revenue eliminations & the Fixed Asset register reconciliation as well as all reconciliations prepared by SL team
- Do the Capital Expenditure Reporting and Forecast & review of and management intercompany account reconciliations for SBU
- Management of debtors and other areas that impact working capital
- Preparation of regular sales forecast for the Future Fibres business & the annual budget for Future Fibres business
Management Accounting
- Proactive analysis and financial insights into the trading activity
- Analysis of profitability of the business by project/ product to help drive profit enhancement
Accounting Systems and Policy
- Monitor and improve internal controls systems to ensure financial risk is minimized within the SBU.
- Detailed review and maintenance of “jobs” in the system
- Periodic review and AP and AR listing to identify areas of attention
- Monitor customer invoicing and timely collection
- Month-end maintenance of the finance system
Statutory Reporting / Audit & Taxation
- Completion / filing of local statutory accounts for SBU at various locations.
- Manage the relationship with local auditors / advisors
- Review of all tax returns, including Income Tax and Social Security
- Responsibility to ensure correct treatment of VAT in SBU
- Completion of Annual Group Tax Pack
Foreign Exchange/Treasury Management
· Liaise with the bank in relation to day-to-day banking activities, Co-ordinate and assist with weekly cash flow and approve weekly supplier payments. Provide assistance and support with weekly cash flow management
Payroll / HR
· Report the Headcount data on a monthly basis
Other
· Mentor, train and develop the wider Finance team, act as an ambassador for Finance in the wider Management team and complete any Ad hoc project support to the CFO/ Head of Finance as required
