About Intelligent Fleet Decarbonisation

 

Part of SIB, Hitachi Zero Carbon Fleet (HZCF) is providing solutions for commercial vehicle and public transport fleets across Europe, using a wider perspective on energy opportunities to improve fleet total cost of ownership and facilitate the transition to zero carbon. We aim to simplify and de-risk the process of switching to electric vehicles (EVs) by offering a comprehensive end-to-end approach, considering not just vehicles and charging infrastructure, but also financing, optimisation, energy procurement, as well as potential for energy storage and on-site generation.

 

Role Overview

 

Hitachi Europe is seeking a Junior Project Manager to deliver exciting projects within HZCF, with the aim of delivering organic growth and new revenue streams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering small projects and workstreams to agreed scope, time and budget. Strong communication and stakeholder manager skills are essential.

The Junior Project Manager must also be able to manage and control project budgets as well as being responsible for the effective management of risks and issues to ensure logs are updated and that mitigation plans are in place.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver ongoing and new workstreams, and deliver projects as part of a team
  • Provide support to the operations team to deliver project outputs
  • Manage and control project budgets for the accountable senior project manager
  • Responsible for delivering project innovation goals
  • Lead communication and effectively manage expectations of project partners to ensure projects are kept to agreed scope and its benefits maximised
  • Responsible for the effective management of risks and issues to ensure logs are updated and that mitigation plans are in place
  • Working with project sponsors to ensure project delivery fits with overall governance within Hitachi Europe
  • Where possible, support and identify new opportunities within SIB, providing valuable input into project bids
  • Identify and manage third-party supplier relationships

 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in a number of the following areas:

  • The ability to lead and deliver small projects and workstreams, with relative autonomy, to agreed scope, time, and budget.
  • At least 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working within the EV, renewables or the energy sector
  • Capable of managing budgets effectively within the context of a multinational business.
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder management and the ability to effectively manage output of project partners and suppliers.
  • A degree in computer science, science, engineering or similar. Master’s or doctorate will be an advantage
  • A demonstrable understanding in the principles of project management
  • The ability to quickly understand the scope of a project and suggest an approach to manage it appropriately
  • First-hand experience working as an integral part of an engineering team
  • PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent Project Management qualification will be an advantage
