Lead DevOps Engineer
Lead DevOps Engineer – Platform MDL
Nielsen is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead the identification, design and development of critical infrastructure components for enabling cloud adoption within the Watch business. This individual will work as a senior member of the Nielsen Tech Transformation team to specify, design and develop critical framework and components for use in migration from legacy on-premises database systems to the latest cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, be proficient in one or more database technologies (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, RedShift, ect…). Desired Qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar, MS or other advanced degree a plus.
- Architecture, design, implementation, and operational support expertise with major Cloud Computing services (AWS, Azure, Google, Rackspace / OpenStack, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project planning and management skills.
- Strong “problem-solver” with honed IT / IS trouble-shooting skills.
- Strong Database Platform background and knowledge
- AWS Certifications desired. Certifications for other Cloud platforms a plus.
- Demonstrated success with Cloud / Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) network and security design / implementation / operations.
- Experience in aspects of Linux systems management a plus (experience managing other UNIX variants also a plus).
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Ansible.
- Superior customer relation skills.
