Manager – Business Development
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and energetic individual to join our Business Development team at MAS Matrix to Manage taking new business ideas (from concept research and development, feasibility studies to prototyping) into investment-grade opportunities for the SBU; whilst liaising with prospective customers and/or support on-boarding new customers by carrying out all relevant activities to meet customer requirements and achieve business objective through maximizing sales revenue with high service level and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with GM Business in strategizing the product innovation agenda of Matrix which generate 30% of the budgeted revenue.
- Lead the Team in research about understanding key customer key customer asks, product gaps and new opportunities.
- Recognize which products or platforms the SBU can capitalize on and understand the scalability and route to market of each.
- Understand the best methods that can be used knitting or manufacturing, finishing etc. and evaluate the practicality of each option.
- Work with group Innovation hub to understand the IP background of potential new concepts. Work with group legal, Innovation and Law firms to understand the patentability of the new product.
- Conduct product trials with the technical team to secure IP and patent product concepts which are novel. Reach out to group resources who have expertise in finishing the final documentation for patenting.
- Secure IP of key products or platforms which will enable the business unit to generate revenue and understand the ROI (Return ON Investment) of patenting such platforms or products.
- Elevate the material offering to customers by bridging the gaps in market or product through newness of seasonal fabrics. Coordinate the project team to collate and understand customer and consumer demand.
- Provide guidance to the team to validate new product or raw material concepts. Marketing material should be created to help the VC and business development teams to assist them in marketing products.
- Onboarding new potential customers who are engaging in new product solutions by providing them scalability.
- Work closely with design team to understand the collaboration efforts the Divisions can have with potential third parties to elevate the existing products or to offer newness.
- Work closely with the sample room planner to secure capacity for the projects that are driven by the team.

Qualifications and Experience
- Marketing background, with general knowledge in finance Know how about flat knitting and apparel is an added advantage.
- 4 – 5 years work experience in a similar job role.
- Product development and costing knowledge.
- Project management skills.
