Job Overview

Description

• Obtain blood sample for medical testing through venipuncture or capillary puncture
• Ensure the test requested is read accurately and billed accordingly
• Bar coding the samples
• Draw blood from OPD patients, ward patients and mobile visit with utmost care
• Attend to home visit by mobile services
• Ensure correct labeling and sample send/ receive through system
• Answer telephone queries
• Organize the reports and hand them over to the patients
• Put reports in to relevant folders accordingly
• Assists doctor in procedures as Bone Marrow Extraction, FNAC procedure and Sample Collection for Fungal Culture
• Sampling test billing
• Obtain approval of the supervisor for Free of Charge investigations
• Participate for medical mobiles arranging by Marketing Department
• Ensure the awareness of Primary Sample, Collection Manual and MSDSs available in the laboratory
• Ensure the ISO 15189 and JCI Standard is adhered to
• Awareness about patient instruction forms and content of them which are available in OPD laboratory
• Give correct verbal instruction/ describe content of instruction forms to patient accurately when patient preparation is required
• Follow the hospital policies and procedures
• Actively participate in the ISO and JCI accreditation activities
• Institute and enforces measures to prevent cross infection, spill management, chemical-electrical-fire hazards, wastage pilferage, losses, damages and abuses as per the hospital policy
• Work collaboratively with patients, health care providers, patient support department to ensure high quality of service
• Work collaboratively with other staff members

Entry Requirements

• Passed GCE O/L examination
• One year nursing certificate or One year experinece in similar post
• Should be willing to work on day & night shift basis
