Program Manager – Application Deployment & Database Jobs at IFS in Gothenburg, Sweden

We are looking for a Program Manager to join our Application & Database team within the Platform area in IFS R&D.

The Application & Database team handles the application’s installation, deployment, and parts of its configuration. From getting the database installed, configured and packages deployed, to having the middle tier services deployed to a Kubernetes platform, this team is the driver of that.

As Program Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the execution and delivery of items on our roadmap and driving continuous improvements to the team’s concepts and being a central part of our Cloud Native journey. You will work with many stakeholders across the R&D organization and externally. You will be responsible for effective product communication and reporting, stakeholder management, change management and the facilitation of collaboration amongst teams.

You will also work with:

• Overall program planning and scheduling
• Understanding dependencies, supporting alignment and collaboration between product groups
• Escalation, risk mitigation and issue resolution
• Communication of scope, progress, state and required actions
• Continuous improvement of processes

A program manager works with all aspects of the development cycle, from scope definition, design, estimating, planning, scheduling of resources, through to the actual development, testing, quality assurance, delivery to market and ongoing support.

To be a successful as Program Manager in the Application & Database team, having a positive attitude and a “can-do” mindset is key. We expect you to “think outside the box” and be a front runner when it comes to challenging the status quo in the strive for improvements.

We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree and a proven track record for working in a cloud-first environment. You have experience with Kubernetes deployments, Oracle products, Linux, agile development, managing a team, owning a backlog and driving a team to get things done.

Your background is maybe in software engineering, software architecture, systems engineering, complex IT project management or similar. You have the ability to understand technical details especially when it comes to cloud deployments and are able to confirm requirements and tasks with key individuals.

Together with Program and Product managers from across R&D, you can translate details and requirements into agreed plans. At the same time your experience enables you to ask questions like “What if?”, “How do we ensure that?”, “Have you considered?”.

To be able to handle this role you will have to work effectively in an internationally distributed, multi-cultural team. You are highly self-motivated and proactive, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. You have a strong drive to get yourself and others to achieve tasks and overcome problems. You are able to interact effectively at all levels in the organization.
