This is an exciting opportunity for a talented researcher with experience in Environmental Law and/or Policy to join a vibrant team working on the UK Communities Renewal Fund project (UKCRF): A roadmap for restoring, enhancing and connecting Green Infrastructure for people and nature in a post-industrial landscape. It is led by the Department of Biosciences but delivered in collaboration with the School of Law, with this post jointly managed by staff from both Faculties.

A key aim of this Communities Renewal Fund project is to design nature- and evidence-based solutions to benefit wellbeing, economy, and nature in the Neath Port Talbot Council area, as a model for wider application in Wales and across the UK. Main duties will include:

  1. Initial mapping of the law and policy landscape relevant to integrated planning and delivery of Green Infrastructure (GI) initiatives.
  2. Analysis of law and policy opportunities and barriers towards the delivery of the project aims and objectives.
  3. Liaise and collaborate with Neath Port Talbot Council staff to support and inform the development of GI Assessments.
