Research Associate (Heat Transfer/Thermal Engineering)
School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Associate.
Key Responsibilities:
The Research Associate will be mainly responsible for simulation studies of multiphase flow with flow boiling, single- or multi- objective optimization of energy efficiency of thermal processes or energy storage systems.
In addition, the Research Associate will also assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and his co-investigator in the supervision of junior research staff, graduate and undergraduate students in the research team, and perform all related assignments and studies as directed by the PI from time to time.
Job Requirements:
Master degree in Heat Transfer or Thermal Engineering
Strong knowledge and experience in machine learning techniques for analysis of thermal processes
Excellent in mathematics for establishing analytical models
Proficiency in single- or multi- objective optimization of energy efficiency of thermal processes or energy storage systems
Excellent Numerical Modelling Skills for single- or multi- phase flow with phase change
Proficiency in use of relative CFD software, ANSYS, Fluent, CFX, or COMSOL
Strong knowledge and experience in performing thermal and energy analysis of energy storage systems
Excellent in programming languages such as C, Python, or Matlab
Publication track record is a great advantage
Prior experience in numerical simulation, in the modelling of multiphase flow, flow boiling in tubes for the design of enhanced energy storage systems
Experience in machine learning techniques for analysis of thermal processes, will be a great advantage
