Research Associate (Low Cost and Carbon Footprint Bendable Concrete/ECC)

A Research Associate position is available in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Job Description:

• Conduct research on low cost/carbon bendable concrete material. The developed materials may be incorporated into other advanced construction methods

• Responsible for the new sustainable low cost/carbon bendable concrete development

• Testing of all relevant aspects of the developed advanced material

• Conducting cost-benefit analysis of the material developed

• Interact and collaborate with other colleagues within PI’s group. The topics currently are actively pursed in the group include self-healing material, self-sensing material, sustainable cementless material with regional waste/by-products, and their structural applications

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree from a renowned university in material science, mechanical, civil engineering or related fields

• Relevant research experience/expertise and/or strong journal publication record. Prior experience on similar research and strong record of journal publication and/or IP generation will be favourably reviewed

• Extensive knowledge on bendable concrete/ECC material

• Relevant experiment skills such as nano and/or microstructural based material tailoring, novel and sustainable concrete development, mechanical testing, and material chemical and micro-structural analysis, as well as FEM analysis

• Familiar with relevant analytical and experimental technique/skills, hands-on experience as well as solid theoretical background; excellent paper/report writing skills
