Research Fellow (Chemical Engineering)

The School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (SCBE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

The Research Fellow’s role is primarily to execute a project aiming at utilising flue gas from incinerator power plants for microalgae cultivation to produce sustainable food source.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Setup, modification and operation of lab-scale scrubber for flue gas cleaning

• Setup, modification and operation of lab-scale photobioreactor for microalgae cultivation

• Characterization of cleaned flue gas and nutritional and toxicity level of microalgae biomass obtained

Job Requirements: 

• ​PhD’s degree in chemical engineering or any related field

• Experienced in biochemical properties and toxicity measurements in cells

• Good understanding of the scientific and engineering principles
