A Research Fellow position is available in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is a World-leading school in sustainability and built environment and plays an integral role in spearheading tertiary education, advancing research innovations and providing professional services in a number of key disciplines in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Maritime Studies fields, with the objective of contributing to the technological and economic advancement of Singapore and beyond.

Job Responsibilities:

Conducting laboratory tests on durability of binder-stabilized soil in sea water
Writing project reports
Writing scientific papers
Supervising research students

Job Requirements:

PhD degree in Civil Engineering specialized in Geotechnical Engineering from reputable universities/institutions
Research experience in soil stabilization with cementitious binders
Strong publication record in reputable journals (published more than 5 journal papers)
Experienced in fundamental tests for construction materials (e.g. XRD, SEM, MIP, TGA, and FTIR)
Good English writing and communication skills
Experience in supervising research students and writing research proposals
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiatives
