Research Fellow (Civil Engineering)

A Research Fellow position is available in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is a World-leading school in sustainability and built environment and plays an integral role in spearheading tertiary education, advancing research innovations and providing professional services in a number of key disciplines in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Maritime Studies fields, with the objective of contributing to the technological and economic advancement of Singapore and beyond.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducting laboratory tests on durability of binder-stabilized soil in sea water

• Writing project reports

• Writing scientific papers

• Supervising research students

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in Civil Engineering specialized in Geotechnical Engineering from reputable universities/institutions

• Research experience in soil stabilization with cementitious binders

• Strong publication record in reputable journals (published more than 5 journal papers)

• Experienced in fundamental tests for construction materials (e.g. XRD, SEM, MIP, TGA, and FTIR)

• Good English writing and communication skills

• Experience in supervising research students and writing research proposals

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiatives
