Research Fellow (Radiative Cooling Materials), Opportunity At NTU Main Campus, Singapore.

The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERIAN) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

The Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERI@N) focuses on the areas of sustainable energy, energy efficiency and infrastructures, as well as on the related socio-economic aspects. Considerable expertise in these areas exists within NTU’s research centers and schools. ERI@N provides a unique platform, where a host of issues including energy generation, storage, distribution, efficiency, along with their environmental impact can be studied and solutions proposed in close collaboration with both private and public sector partners.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Conduct research and fabricate new photonic and polymeric materials for radiative cooling
• Seek aspiration from nature (biomimicking) for development of materials
• Perform investigations (experimental and numerical) into radiative cooling for energy systems and sustainable buildings.
• Support project and undertake investigation into predictive controls of buildings.
• Manage project and assist in lab set-up, procurement, etc.
• Undertake group work and student supervision
• Present study progress, reports, articles and latest findings at regular intervals

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Ph.D/M.Eng. in Engineering or Material Science or Optics or Equivalent.
• Experience in material design, fabrication and chatacterisation
• Software experience e.g. FDTD, Comsol, etc. and photonic material testing will be added advantage
• Willing to learn and hardworking
• Good academic records and an effective team player with good communication & interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and conceptual abilities. Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
• Able to multi-task to work on multiple projects
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
