Research Scientist (CVD Diamond Growth), Opportunity At NTU Main Campus, Singapore.

The Temasek Laboratories invites applications for the position of Research Scientist.

Temasek Laboratories@NTU explores the frontiers in science and develops strategic technologies to enhance the defence and security of Singapore. TL@NTU forms part of the defence technology community in Singapore alongside DSO National Laboratories, Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), Temasek Laboratories @ NUS and @SUTD and the local defence industry.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Development of CVD diamond growth using Microwave Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition (MPCVD).
• Develop CVD diamond growth process to achieve high thermal conductivity film.
• Develop CVD diamond lapping, polishing and laser cutting.
• Evaluate the thermal, structural, and optical properties of the grown film.
• Thorough analysis of the results and publish in high impact factor scientific journals.
• Assist in commissioning of MPCVD system.
• Independent handling of the project to meet the deliverables timely.
• Writing project proposal and technical reports to the funding agencies.
• Support PhD students research projects.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Engineering /Physics, with minimum 5 years of relevant research experience beyond the PhD degree.
• Practical experience in CVD diamond growth systems such as MPCVD.
• Direct experience on CVD diamond growth would be an advantage.
• Self-driven and motivated person who is a good team player.
• Fluent in English and competent writing skills.
• Strong publications record would be preferred
