Summary

The Senior Corporate Accountant (Contract) under the leadership of the Director of Corporate Accounting & Financial Services, will support the process to provide business essential, cost effective, accounting services to associates and business units in the Friedkin affiliated companies. The Senior Corporate Accountant (Contract) will 1) provide general accounting services to the Friedkin affiliated companies and 2) ensure that all financial data is recorded accurately and on time within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policy and Business Partnership Agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a Monthly Close of the General Ledger for the owners and related entities. Maintain the close schedule. Inform Sr. Manager when the monthly trial balance is ready for review.
  • Prepare journal entries for Month End Close.
  • Maintain well-documented work papers and source documentation for journal entries and account reconciliations. As part of the reconciliation process, review the reasonableness of balance sheet and income statement accounts in order to determine that all necessary entries have been recorded accurately.
  • Work with payroll department to prepare the monthly payroll bank reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly deferred compensation reconciliation and journal entries (based on the benefit report provided by the vendor).
  • Work with benefit team to prepare the monthly benefit and medical reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post payroll accrual JE and other payroll related JEs.
  • Record TFG bank account activities.
  • Record the accrual JE related to medical claim and contract labor.
  • Prepare the balance sheet and P&L analysis.
  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Maintain passive investment roll forward (equity method) and summary. Record the contribution, distribution, and investment income/loss under equity method.
  • Research and apply accounting polity to complete issues, communicating appropriately to senior management.
  • Research and resolve accounting transaction questions and other customer issues in an agreed upon timeframe. Strive to satisfy customers.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day; and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels.
