Senior Executive, Clinical Research Officer for the Health Screening Centre

 

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for a Senior Executive, Clinical Research Officer who is self-motivated, proactive in problem solving and a strong team player. The CRO will be part of the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study team, a flagship Singapore population health study jointly conducted by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London. We aim to profile the health and behavior of up to 10,000 people from the general Singapore population over the next few years. We are conducting (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) biomarkers for chronic diseases.

 

The candidate will play a key role mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles: Register participants, take their informed consent, verify eligibility and systematically performing drug and supplement verification.

  • Assist in blood sample collection by venipuncture.
  • Assist in conducting health and lifestyle questionnaire, dietary and/or cognitive assessment.
  • Perform physiological assessment according to Standard Operating Procedures and record measurements. These physiological assessments include body composition, lung, eye, skin and heart function using sophisticated medical devices (training will be provided
  • Communicate with participants before or after the trials to address their queries.
  • Participate in off-site grassroot/community activities to enable recruitment of participants to the study.

 

Candidates should have:

  • Passion to make the difference in the society through research and/or serving the community.
  • A positive attitude and ability to learn new skills are essential attributes to succeed in this role.
  • Degree in Allied Health / Biomedical Sciences or similar disciplines. Entry level candidates are welcome.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. Fluent in spoken and written English. Fluent in Malay, Tamil, Chinese or dialects would be of advantage.
  • The ability to work independently with high levels of motivation.
  • Certification on Good Clinical Practice, phlebotomy, CPR & AED would be of advantage
