Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Active – Trading team as a Senior Garment Technologist! This role would enable you to delivery first time right Pattern making, Pattern grading, Mini marker Validation, Sample and work collaboratively with support teams to create a bulk feasible product.

Key responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Customers and Merchandisers in the event measurement, adjustments and feasibility of the sample construction is required and prepare base patterns for the designated category.
  • Prepare patterns and markers for R&D (Research & Development) samples and evaluate same together with the team leader in order to ensure that the proto sample is accurate prior to the Customer sample
  • Develop patterns and markers for proto samples by obtaining required fabric and accessories in consultation with the merchandising department
  • Make required adjustments to patterns based (All proto stages) on customer comments and prepare new samples incorporating the adjustments accordingly
  • Prepare Virtual Samples depending on customer requirements whilst analyzing the fit virtually (Speck changers, artwork changers other editing)
  • Engage in the following activities in an accurate and timely manner thereby, facilitating the bulk production process by, finalizing the patterns for bulk production and ensure that the Spec and schematics are completed in an orderly manner prior to the buy
  • Conduct development meetings in order to decide on samples which are to be developed, trims to be utilized whilst arriving at technical and construction decisions based on the sample sketches
  • Conduct pre-production meetings in order to facilitate the following activities and, transfer the technical details of new styles for production, address technical issues and ensure that all technical related information pertaining to new styles are handed over to the relevant technical representative at the plant.

Knowledge and skills

  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Certificate in pattern making
  • Relevant qualification 4 – 6 years practical experience in pattern making
  • Good Analytical and Communication Skills
  • Strong Negotiation and Leadership Skills
  • Computer Literacy Skills
