About the job
We are looking to hire a ” Tax Assistant ” for one of our client companies in Colombo.
Requirements
- Full or Part qualified in CIMA / ACCA / CA Sri Lanka.
- Minimum 01-02 years experience. Preferably in Audit Firm.
- Experience in handling tax due diligence would be an added advantage
- Strong grasp of business and technical issues, industry, trends, and practices.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments independently.
- Excellent command in English.
- Dedicated team player with excellent leadership qualities.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with their direct and indirect tax compliance requirements and recommend solutions that support their overall business objectives.
- Support clients to ensure they are consistent with good business practices and with the applicable tax laws and rules.
- Preparation and/or approval of tax computations and returns for clients.
- Advising on clients’ payments, lodging appeals or objections and following up on these matters with the Inland Revenue Department.
- Serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams, participating in due diligence and structuring engagements related to transactions that private equity and strategic corporate entities pursue.
- Managing multiple relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Proactively identifying opportunities to grow the business.
- Prepare reports, presentations, participate and contribute at client meetings.
- Contribute to learning and education by participating in internal and external training and becoming a subject matter expert in tax laws and regulation.
