Job Description
Summary
People in the Cloud PMO are the ones that oversees multiple projects and programs within the Cloud Planning & Operations Portfolio.
The Technical Program Managers are focused on making strategic technical decisions, executing technical business projects within programs, and they must be able to manage from start to finish during all the phase of project management: project initiation, project direction, monitoring and supporting all phases, handling accordingly risks management, and reporting on project management performance until project closure.
This role is perfect for someone with a track record of success and incredible potential to do even more. We’re looking for an individual that has experience in working in a managed cloud / Software as a Service environment (SaaS):
- Proven Success: First-hand experience of world-class product operations and a proven track record of delivering great program outcomes in software development, and cloud operations. This could be as a technical program manager, but also as an engineering manager or a product manager.
- An Analytical Approach: You should have a great analytical mind and extreme attention to detail, coupled with a deep understanding of development practices and workflows.
- A Collaborative Leader: This role brings responsibility without direct authority. We’re looking for a candidate with natural leadership abilities who can earn the trust of others with a collaborative style and great communication skills.
- Curiosity & Drive: You should relish challenges and have a strong instinct to drive things to completion. We’re looking for the ability and curiosity to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with all Cloud Planning & Operations teams including leadership team to prioritize our efforts to make our products and services operations world class,
- Participate in the design, implement and augment processes and systems to measure and report on the effectiveness of our Cloud PMO and the health of our project teams,
- Be responsible for the Cloud PMO operation and ongoing improvement, roadmap, and planning process,
- Create detailed project plans for Cloud Planning & Operation activities with clear identification of costs, resources, dependencies, risks, and milestones,
- Identify and manage project risks; escalate as needed for resolution. Improve project management processes and increase efficiencies,
- Create runbook processes to automate and streamline processes in a Cloud Planning & Operations / Cloud PMO,
- Manage relationships with cross-functional project partners/service providers,
- Work with various teams to define and build metrics to track performance and identify areas of improvement for the programs in collaboration with key cross-functional team members,
- Advise on the development of a communications strategy and communications matrix for Cloud Planning & Operations teams,
- Lead synergy identification and tracking activities, facilitate working sessions to identify and quantify cost and savings opportunities,
- Prepare for regular leadership update meetings (e.g., Executive Steering Committee)
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- Previous experience managing complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary projects in a Cloud Operations environment,
- Experience in managing working with applications in a single tenant and multi-tenant cloud environment,
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance, or technology,
- Excellent teamwork skills; strong analytic and critical thinking skills,
- Experience in business intelligence portals and scorecards (Power BI),
- Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, ServiceNow, Jira Cloud, PRINCE2 and Agile framework methodologies,
- Analytical and problem-solving experience including experience collecting data points across disparate projects.
