Key purpose of the Job

As Assistant Manager – Engineering, you will be reporting to the General Manager – Operations. You will be responsible for leading the Engineering function for the plant and overseeing machine maintenance and facility Engineering initiatives for the plant. This includes overseeing implementation of machine/facility maintenance activities, machine and spares availability, forecasting and ensuring adherence to plant Engineering budgets, execution of improvement projects (for example SMV reduction, cost savings) and plant facility projects. You will also be responsible for driving sustainability and automation initiatives for the plant, as directed by the Centre/Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and deployment of plant Engineering requirements including objectives, budgets, improvement projects, etc.
  • Overseeing effective implementation of machine maintenance activities
  • Overseeing implementation of facility maintenance and improvement projects
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders for the achievement of functional objectives
  • Managing the Plant Engineering team

Education

Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

Around 6 – 8+ years experience in a plant Engineering function
A minimum of 3 – 4 years experience of leading a plant Engineering team with machine maintenance and facility maintenance
