About This Role

 

We are in the pursuit of onboarding a versatile, experienced, and mature Director of Engineering & Operations (Platform) to spearhead our engineering tracks powered by our CirclesX platform and also to manage the Sri Lanka operations. In this capacity, you will be responsible to direct multi-disciplinary engineering teams towards the targets defined by the different tracks by closely overseeing the work, setting priorities, adhering to the platform engineering principles, directing and supporting operation and support teams and collaborating with business stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

 

Be involved in the roadmap definition for the tracks as per the company goals and defined targets.
Align various engineering teams in the tracks towards the roadmap by collaboratively deriving yearly and quarterly targets and KPIs
Actively involve, mentor, guide, and direct the engineering teams towards the successful and smooth execution of set targets to achieve the KPIs
Proactively monitor and manage the progress of the deliverables, identify risks and eliminate the roadblocks
Owning the delivery of various timelines, ensuring that key milestones are met and deliveries are of the highest quality
Periodic reporting of the progress of the KPIs, deliverables, and risks to the senior management
Complete adherence to the platform principles and be an ambassador to promote and increase the awareness of the same
Inculcate best engineering practices within all engineering teams
Closely collaborate with the other internal teams/stakeholders such as business/product, InfoSec, DevOps/infra, platform engineering etc to look at the holistic delivery aligning with the plans
Encouraging and mentoring an excellent team of talented engineers and team by mentoring them and working with them to remove any roadblocks
Conduct performance reviews and defining each individual’s career paths to help them grow within the organization and propagate the same to all engineering teams
Proactive resource planning to achieve a smooth delivery and get the hiring done on time with the help of TA teams
Work closely with the engineering partners to align and onboard the contractors on time to manage and achieve delivery targets
Work out the yearly engineering budgets and seek for approval
Be accountable for the Sri Lanka engineering center operations by working with and directing the operations and support teams to have an uninterrupted operations and to achieve the setforth operational KPIs

 

What We Are Looking For

 

Degree / Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
At least 16 years of experience with a proven track record of handling various deliveries, of which 5 years are relevant Engineering Leadership experience
Strong design and architectural experience in building various highly-scalable and highly-available products (millions of consumers)
Strong understanding of the SDLC Activities which include Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Post-Production Support etc.
Strong people management skills to lead and build a high-performing team
