Introduction
We are looking for a curious, passionate and skilled UX designer to join our growing team in Malmö. We deliver using the IBM Garage Method (https://www.ibm.com/garage/method), a fast-paced, exciting outcome-focused design and delivery model. The method is at our core when defining our ways of working, the environment we operate in and as such enables us to make our clients heroes. The method is grounded in Design Thinking and ensures we are focused on delivering to end user needs and outcomes that advantageously position the businesses we work with; this drives us from inception along the products lifecycle. You will be part of a rapidly expanding team of exceptional people who create and deliver value with cutting-edge user experience to our clients and users. Whilst we are currently focused on retail we deliver across a variety of industries.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Designers at IBM are instrumental team members to safeguard our focus of creating and delivering valuable, useful and delightful products and experiences to our clients and their users. Your role in the team is to help bring simplicity, meaning and clarity, to challenging and sometimes complex problems and workflows. We believe you really enjoy the craft of creating beautiful and engaging User Experiences and User Interfaces, while also helping the team to stay true to the users needs, the client’s brand and design systems.

 

You probably have a solid background and/or education within UX design and naturally is the one to take responsibility for identifying and addressing the user’s needs, while also enjoying the craftsmanship needed to take ideas all the way through to high quality digital experiences.

Responsibilities as a UX/UI Designer

  • Take on the role of UX/UI designer in our Garage projects, in close collaboration with the team and stakeholders.
  • Participate in co-creation sessions. Scoping, planning, facilitating workshops and synthesis.
  • Create wireframes, user journeys and presentation amongst other communication assets that align the team and our stakeholders.
  • Create artefacts: from low fidelity sketches and concept designs to high fidelity UI mockups/prototypes.
  • Perform user testing and validation sessions with our sponsor group users, to continuously ensure that we are doing the right thing and are creating great user experiences in our products.

Team responsibilities as a UX/UI Designer

  • Guide the cross-functional team around you throughout the design process
  • Be an advocate for good design and user-centric design
  • Support the Product Owner in translating user needs and pain points in to practical next steps

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
What we believe you have

  • A degree in UX/UI design or other related fields
  • 2-3 years of work experience as a designer
  • Exceptional creativity, innovation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent communicator and a team player
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch/Figma
  • Fluency in Swedish and/or English

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Front-end developer experience is a plus
  • Experience from retail is a massive plus
  • Experience from writing UI copy is a plus
